Does God Call Women to Ministry ?
Some of the Greatest Ministries in the history of the world have been through Women !
In this Post we will see how God used the Holy Spirit to work through Women in the Bible.
Some Churches and Denominations have not been wiling to allow Women to have their rightful place in Ministry however God sees things totally opposite !
DAUGHTERS & MAIDSERVANTS
Joel 2:28-29 says: it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh: your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions, and also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
God said in the above passage He would pour out His Spirit on his “daughters and maidservants” and they shall prophesy. God does not discriminate He pours out His Spirit on men and women alike as long as they are open to be used by Him.
Acts 2:1-21 was the fulfillment of the Prophecy of Joel and it talks about how the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the disciples in the upper room and also upon all those in Jerusalem that day. People were talking in tongues and some were criticizing them and said they were just drunk. But Peter stood up in the midst of them and said they are not drunk this is that what the Prophet Joel said “I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh: your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions, and also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit”.
Peter quoted Joel and this was the manifestation of that Prophesy.
WOMEN WORKED IN MINISTRY WITH JESUS
Luke 8:1-3 says several Women were partners in Jesus Ministry.Women such as Mary Magdalene,Joanna the wife of Chuza ,Herod’s steward Susanna, and many others provided for Him from their Substance.
Matthew 27:55-56 says many Women who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him, were there looking on from afar among whom were Mary Magdalene,Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
WOMEN WORKED IN MINISTRY WITH PAUL
Romans 16:1-4, and 6 and 12 show us that Paul spoke highly of Women that helped him in his ministry. He said I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also. Greet Priscilla and Aquilla, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my life, to whom I not only give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles….Greet Mary who labored much for us.Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who labored much in the Lord.
As you can see Paul spoke very highly of these Women and they were in ministry with him.

MIGHTY WOMEN OF GOD IN MODERN HISTORY
Some Mighty Women of God in Modern History were:
Aimee Semple McPherson was a Woman of signs, wonders and miracles and was the founder of the Four Square Church Denomination.
Kathryn Kuhlman was also a Woman of signs, wonders and miracles. The Word of Knowledge, Gifts of Healings and the Working of Miracles operated in her ministry strong on a daily basis and it has been said the power of God was upon her stronger that the most anointed 10 men of that day.
Maria Woodworth Etter was used by God to start revivals all over America.
WE SHOULD RECEIVE WOMEN IN MINISTRY
Those that have problems and issues with Women in Ministry need to look at the how God has used Women in Ministry in the Word of God and throughout history and should receive them as God’s handmaidens and servants.
My youngest daughter is a licensed Minister. A man recently that attended her Bible Study when he found out that she was a licensed Minister said he was leaving the Bible Study because it was not right that she is a licensed Minister.
We had a Miracle Breakthrough Conference in our City recently that was hosted by a Woman and had all Women Speakers and many of the Pastors in the City would not support it.The Conference was on a Friday Evening,Saturday Morning and Saturday Evening.
In the Friday Evening Service myself and one other Pastor were the only Pastors in attendance.
Saturday morning I was the only Pastor in attendance.
Saturday evening there were a total of only four Pastors present.
This Conference was presented to over 50 Pastors and the response by the Pastors was extremely low.Regardless many of the members from these Pastors Churches were in attendance. The reason I am bringing this up is as I said we need to receive Women of God just as willingly and openly as we do Men of God !
This was a very Powerful Conference and many Pastors that were not in attendance missed out on many blessings of the Lord.
To change this in the future I am praying according to Ephesians 4:13 that we all will come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
