How Can I Know If I Am In Faith or Not ?

How Can I Know If I Am In Faith or Not ?

Years ago I was sitting in a Church with 10,000 seats preparing for a Ministers Convention to start and the Holy Spirit said to me: Are You in Faith ? Well I thought I was until I heard Him say that. Then the Holy Spirit said these words that changed my life for ever He said: “You are not in faith if you are not speaking to mountains on a daily basis”. What is a mountain ? A mountain is a problem, obstacle or difficulty. We all have them and according to the Holy Spirit and God’s Word if we are not speaking to them on a daily basis we are not in faith. As believers we tend to think we are in faith just because we go to Church and read the Bible. But not according to the Word. In this Post we will look at Scriptures that will tell us specifically How to be in Faith !

Isaiah 40:3-5 says: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken”.

This is a prophesy through Isaiah about John the Baptist that he would come and prepare the way of the Lord. it said every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low. What does that mean ? It means Jesus when He comes he will show us how to remove mountains or problems from our lives. It goes on to say the crooked places shall be made straight and rough places smooth. How is this going to happen ? The glory of the Lord shall be revealed.

Isaiah 40:12-14 says: Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured the heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure ? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance ? Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him ? With whom did He take counsel , and who instructed Him in the path of justice ? Who taught Him knowledge, and showed Him the way of understanding ? This passage is talking about God’s Omniscience and how He knows everything.

Isaiah 40:26 says:Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power not one is missing. This verse is talking about all the billions of stars in the universe and God calls them all by name ! Wow ! You talk about all knowing !

Isaiah 40:28-31 says: Have you not known ? Have you not heard ? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

All of these above passages are talking about God is:

ALL POWERFUL ! Omnipotent !

ALL KNOWING ! Omniscience !

Well He can surely take care of our little mountains !

Zechariah 4:6-7 says: “Not by might nor by power; but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts.Who are you,O great mountain ? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain ! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of Grace, grace to it” !

Zerubbabel was given the task to build a temple and he was faced with a lot of opposition. So, God was telling him that it would get built but it would not be by his power but by God’s Spirit and the mountains, problems, obstacles and difficulties he would face would become a plain or removed out of his way ! I always say that verse has a little attitude in it. Where it says “who are you O great mountain” ? In other words since we are God’s children mountains, problems, obstacles have no right to stay in our way but they will become a plain or removed !

Matthew 21:21-22 says: If you have faith, and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

This passage tells us exactly what to say to mountains, problems, obstacles and difficulties in our lives. It says we should say to mountains “be removed” ! Most people talk “ABOUT their problems”  not “TO their problems”.

In Mark 11:22-24 I call this passage the Master Key to Faith ! It says: Have faith in God for assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Here again Jesus says say to the mountain “be removed” but He also says do not doubt in your heart but believe that those things you say will be done and you will have whatever you say.

God is telling us how to deal with everyday mountains, problems, obstacles and difficulties. You may say is that all there is to it ? Well of course we need to use common sense along with our confessions of faith.”We cannot say lack be removed from me” and not go to work and earn money to pay our bills. If we will do everything we can do in the natural God will do what He needs to do for us in the supernatural !
